About Food Banks Canada

Food Banks Canada is a network of over 500 food banks across Canada that provide both food, and funds to those in need. Their vision is to relieve hunger today while also preventing hunger tomorrow through research, awareness, and advocacy. Each month, they assist over 850,000 Canadians, over one-third of whom are children and youth. 38% of the food they provide is fresh, such as milk, eggs, bread, and fruits and vegetables.

About Feeding America

With 200 food banks and 60,000 pantries across America, Feeding America currently serves 1 in 7 Americans. They work with retailers, distributors, farmers, and manufacturers, to gather food that would otherwise to go waste and instead, distribute it to hungry families. They aim to salvage as much as possible of the 72 billion pounds of safe food that ends up in landfills each year.
