Are you looking for the perfect girly pink for your home? Look no further! Cait from Little City Farmhouse refurbished this dresser in Vintage Cupcake to make it the perfect addition to a little girl's new nursery!
Hello friends! It’s Cait from Little City Farmhouse and I am back to share with you a sweet dresser I refinished for a little baby girl’s nursery!
When this dresser came to me the paint was partially stripped, so I sanded it right down to nearly the bare wood. I love the effect painting over raw wood has. The paint is thick enough to give a painted look, rather than a stained look, but still allows for the grain of the wood to show through slightly.
I painted the dresser in two coats of Vintage Cupcake, a sweet candy pink! This is a basic, uncomplicated refinishing process that is perfect for a beginner!
After the two coats were dry I sanded the entire dresser to a smooth finish with 180 grit sandpaper, making sure to hit the edges and knock the paint off in those spots. Some of the original paint shows through, which gives the dresser an authentic aged look.
I waxed the entire dresser with Clear Wax and buffed it to a satiny finish. The glass knobs fit this princess of a dresser perfectly!
Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
