Have you heard about our new All-in-One Decor Paint yet? Cait from Little City Farmhouse tried it out on this sweet little cabinet in Lazy Linen and Pebble Beach and we love how it turned out! Read on to hear what she thought of it.
Hello! It’s Cait here from Little City Farmhouse, and I am excited to share with you a project using Country Chic’s brand new paint! The new paint is clay-based and self-priming and so easy to work with!
I knew I wanted to achieve a very layered look using different colours. The cabinet had been previously painted in a very light aqua shade, so I chose to use the existing finish to help me achieve the look I was going for. I painted the entire cabinet in Lazy Linen, and then gave the exterior another coat in Pebble Beach, leaving the side panels in Lazy Linen.
The paint dries to a very matte chalky finish with incredible coverage! Once it was painted and dry I started distressing it.
The chalky finish of this paint lends itself perfectly to distressing. I gave the whole cabinet a really good sand to bring out the different layers of paint.
I love the final finish of this piece. If you love layering paint and a heavy distressed look, this paint is definitely for you! The icing on the cake for this paint is it doesn’t require a top coat! The paint is extremely durable. Because of the heavy use a cabinet like this can recieve, I added a light coat of wax to the shelves for extra protection. The rest of the cabinet is left without a topcoat, and the matte chalky finish is absolute perfection!
Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
