Glazed Coffee Table {guest post}

June 17, 2015

Cait from Little City Farmhouse refurbished this fantastic coffee table with Rocky Mountain and Graphite glaze! Come see this blog post she wrote to find out how she applied glaze to achieve this look.

Hello there! I’m Cait and I am back to share another fun project using Country Chic’s brand new product - Glaze!

For this table, I gave it two coats of paint in Rocky Mountain - a gorgeous charcoal grey.

I let it thoroughly dry, about 24 hours, before I moved on to glazing it. I used the Graphite glaze for this piece as it compliments the rich charcoal of Rocky Mountain perfectly. I applied the glaze with a paintbrush to the base of the table first, working in small sections, and wiping it off with a damp cloth.

To avoid dry lines in the top of the piece, I applied the glaze with the damp rag, working quickly to move it over the entire top. With a different damp rag, I then worked the glaze across the piece to get a nice even straight finish with no lines.

I love the way the glaze sits so nicely in the grooves and lines of the piece, and giving it a nice washed finish on the flatter parts. I finished the piece off with a coat of clear wax for extra durability.

The glaze is such a fun product to work with. I love the tone on tone finish of this piece, but the options with the Graphite glaze are endless!

Cait {Little City Farmhouse}

Hello! I’m Cait! I am a wife and a mom of two little ones, and a proud auntie of a growing little flock! I first started by refinishing several pieces in my own home, and fell in love with it. Slowly it turned into a business and something I could do from home. I love the thrill of finding old furniture, and I adore the process of refinishing it into something new and fresh. Refinishing furniture is the heart of my business. I believe your home should reflect who you are, and I love helping people get the look they want in their homes by refinishing their furniture for them.
