Come see the before and after images of another stunning transformation by Heidi from Lily Field Furniture with Liquorice!
Hi Guys, It's Heidi from Lily Field Furniture! I'm here today to show you a great before and after of an old beat up antique desk.
I bought this desk forever ago and it has sat in my garage forgotten for the past year. A client picked it out of my Facebook album of available pieces recently and wanted black for the finish.
Black has been my go to color this year. There is just something so timeless and sophisticated about classic black. If you know me, you know Liquorice is my very favorite black ever! For this desk I prepped some dings with wood filler and gave the whole piece a good sanding with 220 grit sandpaper. After one coat of Liquorice paint I distressed with a sanding block and applied Tough Coat as a sealer. I love how one coat of paint made such a dramatic difference in updating this desk!
Hello! My name is Heidi and I am the face behind Lily Field Furniture. I spend my days being a wife and mom and my late nights in the garage painting away! I absolutely love the job that I have and have so much fun with the process of thrifting and then refinishing furniture in a creative way. It's so rewarding to see the amazing transformation that just a little paint can make!
