Kathy and Karen from The Salvaged Boutique are joining us today to share their very first blog post featuring Country Chic Paint. They created this adorable cupcake stand using Sweet Dreams!
Hi Everyone! I'm Kathy from The Salvaged Boutique. My sister, Karen, and I are excited to bring you projects inspired by the beautiful colors and versatility of Country Chic Paint. We are honored to be part of the 2015 Blogger Squad and we hope it shows this year!
While "thrifting" one day with our Mamita (Mom) I spotted this vintage two-tiered stand and immediately thought CUPCAKES.
Karen and I often get images in our mind of how we want to resurrect a vintage item. Some of the images that popped into my head: party, paper flowers, white frosted cupcakes, pink or peach, ultra-feminine, party, celebration, baby shower or wedding.
When I first looked at the Country Chic Paint color card I became smitten with "Sweet Dreams". It's such a strong beautiful feminine peach color. So this color was perfect for my small project.
In a few easy steps. I was able to disassemble the stand, separating the metal trays from the wood base.
I used a foam brush to apply 3 coats of Sweet Dreams onto the wooden tripod stand and gold spray paint to freshen up the metal trays.
I lightly sanded parts of the wooden base and tripod; applied clear wax and buffed.
Once I finished, I reassembled the tray and found the difference to be pretty dramatic.
Don't underestimate the results of a simple project using Country Chic Paint.
Is it party time yet?
