This amazing Ikea Stool Makeover was created by Carissa from Carissa Miss in Adorned!
Ikea, How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height of everything therein. So, I kind of modified Elizabeth Barrett Browning, but the implication is the same. My obsession is such that I can't leave them well enough. Sorry, Ikea, but I need to make it feel like my own.
I've had the Bekvam stool for a couple years and first finished it to fit my shabby chic design.
I had protected it with polyurethane that has made it super easy to wipe and clean but I was just done with the off-white color and polka dots.
I knew when Country Chic paint released their limited edition "adorned" it was the perfect project to try it out.
Country Chic went on over the polyurethane in 2 coats easily. No priming or prep besides a quick wipe-down.
After it dried I sanded it with my Ryobi Corner Cat to give it a well-used rustic look. I didn't go overboard because it will get heavy use in the kitchen.
I'm Carissa from Carissa Miss. I love all things DIY, especially trying to make my own versions of pricey designer items. Like my DIY farmhouse table, this Ikea RAST hack, or these vertical stripe curtains. I love working with e-design clients to transform a space from blah to wow! Here's a gallery of some of the inspiration boards I've created.
