Still need a Halloween costume idea? Look no further! Rachel from Maison de Pax is joining us on the blog today to teach you how to put together your own last minute costume with a little help from Country Chic Paint!
Hi Country Chic Paint fans! It's Rachel again from Maison de Pax, and I'm here to lend a hand to all those procrastinators who still need a costume for Halloween. Or, better yet, moms who need an inexpensive and wholesome way to entertain their kids! Today, adorable and affordable little aprons meet Country Chic Paint and become the world's cutest Halloween costume for less than $8.
Yup. I found these child-sized aprons and chef's hats at my local craft store, and with a little personalization, my two boys are set for this year with this adorable outfit.
All you need is a computer, a printer, some straight pins, a paintbrush, and a little Country Chic Paint.
I used Country Chic Paint to paint some pillow covers to look like grain sacks several months ago, and the paint has not only lasted beautifully, but the pillow covers are completely washable. I've been so pleased with how the paint works on fabric, that I thought it would be perfect for this little project, especially because I know I'll need to wash these from time to time!
To personalize the apron, I simply made a logo (using Microsoft Word) with fonts that I liked and printed it out. I then pinned the paper behind the apron and traced the letters with a very fine paintbrush.
Give the kid a little rolling pin, and he's ready to take on the world.
Or, if you have boys, give him a giant rolling pin and he'll be ready to take on his brother. ;)
And do you know what I really love about this? Not only was it inexpensive, easy, and adorable... It will bring hours and hours of fun for my children. The kind of fun that involves candy and holidays, yes, but more importantly, the kind of fun that involves creativity, imagination, cooking in the kitchen with mom - making cookies and memories.
I'm Rachel from Maison de Pax, and I am so honored to be a part of the Country Chic Paint blogger squad. At Maison de Pax, we are working to renovate, redecorate, and rejuvenate our 1940 colonial to be a place where peace can be found; feel free to tour our home if you'd like. Our most recent focus has been our attic renovation, but for years I have loved to make over old file cabinets, paint mason jars, and create my own decor on a budget. With Country Chic Paint, I've already created a chippy side table, painted a "sunbleached" look, and gilded a frame... I love the endless possibilities!
