Jen from Migonis Home gave this donated armoire a fresh look with some new hardware and Lazy Linen!
One of the great things about having loyal blog readers is that they think of you when they have a piece of furniture that is going to get donated or thrown out. This makeover was the third piece that I've made over thanks to a fantastic reader's donation.
When Patty contacted me about her armoire I was a little worried. Was it going to be one of those pieces that are really just made for a TV and no matter how you make it over it'll look stupid? I hadn't seen any photos before driving out 40 minutes to get it so I wasn't too sure. And then to beat it all I ended up being late because of ridiculous construction blocking a bunch of roads. But... that ended up helping me when all the construction workers loaded the armoire into AJ's truck for me. :)
This piece was a little dated but nothing dreadful like this piece that I have since taken the scrolly doors off of (what a difference that made!). I envisioned the armoire with a coat of Lazy Linen and glass knobs by D. Lawless Hardware. If you've seen any of my makeovers you know what a fan I am of glass knobs on anything.
I thought it would look even more special to cover the shelf on the inside of the armoire with this great wallpaper I got on sale at Target (did you know they have removable wallpaper now?). Unfortunately, I sold the piece before I remembered to get a quality photo of the inside. :(
What Country Chic Paint color would you have done if this was your makeover?
I'm Jen Migonis and I blog over at Migonis Home about renovating our small Cape (every single room is getting seriously revamped), decorating, food and family. The whole gamut. :) And I love makeovers. Every time I see a good one it makes me giddy. Especially one where someone took some risks or had a really great vision.
