Pretty Red Cupboard {guest post}

September 11, 2014

Stacey from Embracing Change wanted to make this hutch really pop, and she got the perfect look with Devotion! It fits in perfectly with her autumn decor.

Hello everyone!

I have been having some fun with some new colors I have been trying from Country Chic Paint. This past week, I tried a completely new color - Devotion. It is a beautiful shade of red! I don't know why, but it seems I don't often paint with red. I am not sure why because I adore is just a great color to use in your home!

I purchased this gorgeous piece from a Facebook sale site...I was surprised no one else went after it.

Really surprised.

I saw its potential right away...I had to have it to make it over! She was a a beauty in all her rustic glory. Very old and very sturdy - she would make a great statement piece! All she needed was the right color to make her POP!

Devotion was a perfect choice, don't you think?

I painted the inside of the shelves with Country Chic's Vanilla Frosting as I wanted the decor and dishes to stand out - I think the contrast is nice.

I added two oil-rubbed bronze pulls from D. Lawless Hardware.

I am more than pleased with how she turned out!

My name is Stacey and I blog about my creative endeavors at Embracing Change. I dabble in blogging about my family and my faith as well as some crafts and recipes although my blog is primarily about painting and bring old and ugly furniture back to life. I love finding an old, ugly piece of furniture and making it pretty and new. It is my creative passion! My day job is being a mommy to two sweet girls and married to a pastor working alongside of him in ministry. Painting is what I do in my free time and for fun. My hobby has developed into a side creative endeavor as well and I have established The Blessed Nest whereby I now sell my creations to those that also have a love for all old things made new!
