Lindsay from My Creative Days turned this road-side find into a beautiful piece in Delightful to keep her family dreaming of all the places they'd like to go!
Hello! It is Lindsay from My Creative Days here to share this 'Delightful' little table.
I found this gem on the side of the road. It was a little rough, but had the cutest shape.
I am still working with the Limited Edition colors from Country Chic Paint and decided to paint the table 'Delightful'. When I got a couple of coats of paint on it, I distressed the edges with sandpaper.
For some reason, the 'Delightful' color reminded me of maps??? I don't know why maps came to mind, but I ran with it and decided to incorporate them in this table.
I grabbed an old map and some Elmer's glue. I did a modge-podge technique (mixed the glue with a little water so it was easier to spread). I measured the places I wanted to put the map, cut the map to size, painted the glue and water mixture in the place the map would go and then put the map on. Once I got the map where I wanted it and smoothed it out the best I could, I cut off any excess and then painted the glue and water mixture over the top of it. I did this a few times to get a good coat on it.
Since the 'Delightful' color was a little too bright for me, I added some Antiquing Wax to dull the color a little bit.
Wouldn't this table be a lot of fun with a small globe on top?? I think it would be great to fill the drawer with paper and pencils to write about all the places you have been and all the places you want to visit.
