Lindsay from My Creative Days used pieces of an 1897 organ to create this beautiful wall display in Lazy Linen!
Hello! It is Lindsay from My Creative Days here to talk about my new found love. A love that has been missing from my life for a very, long time. Her name is "Lazy Linen". She is subtle, beautiful, soothing and soft. She is the perfect color for all my painting needs. Okay, on to the project at hand. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that I picked up an 1897 organ at a yard sale for free! The tag on the organ read, "I am free, repurpose me!" Enough said. The organ came home with me that day.
It was missing some parts and needed some work, but there were so many pieces that could be salvaged and reused!
The panels in the picture below were some of my favorite pieces to the organ.
There is so much detail that you can't replicate or find anymore. Stunning!
I removed the side pieces that were on these panels so I was just left with the panels. (Those side pieces will be perfect for some other project).
I painted the panels with a few coats of "Lazy Linen".
After the coats dried, I went back and distressed the panels with some sandpaper. I think the paint really highlights the many details on these panels.
I hung the panels to our "entry wall". I wanted to make over this space to make it more "us". Thanks to a little "Lazy Linen" and an old organ, it fits us better.
My new found love has even become the inspiration to the colors we will be painting some of our kitchen cabinets. And, I still have many pieces left over from the organ that I can reuse for other projects. Stay tuned!
