China Hutch Makeover {guest post}

Tricia from Little Cottage on the Pond really made this China Hutch stand out in her kitchen with a coat of Pebble Beach and some antiquing and natural wax.

This hutch started out ho-hum and was painted the same colour as the original trim in the house. Since we were renovating and painting everything I decided to make this little China hutch stand out a bit by painting it in Country Chic Paint's Pebble Beach.

First I applied two coats of Pebble Beach. After letting the piece dry overnight, I applied some of the dark antiquing wax and gently buffed some of it off to give it a bit of depth.

I didn't distress this piece, but I did play around quite a bit with the dark and clear wax. I love how well it picks up the gray in the flooring and looks so crisp against our newly painted creamy white walls.

Such an easy way to take a built in piece and make it stand out!
