Heather from Inspire me Heather gave her roadside find dresser a rejuvenated look with a coat of Simplicity!
Hello Country Chic Paint blog readers! It’s me, Heather from Inspire Me Heather. I found this cute little dresser on the side of the road and the sign said “free”, that meant that it was mine, all mine! It just needed to be made over, refreshed maybe?
I took the basket shelves off, they were in great shape so I left them alone. I began painting the frame with Country Chic Paint “Simplicity” which is the whitest colour in their chalk and mineral based paint line, love it!
I used my trusty old foam roller to paint it and a paintbrush for the corners that the roller wouldn’t reach.
So far, so good! It was actually a lot of painting but already much better in “Simplicity”.
When I had a couple of coats of paint on it, I allowed it to dry and then took my sander to the edges of it. I distressed it slightly and just along the edges where it may have been worn anyways over time.
When I was satisfied with my sanding, I applied Country Chic Paint “Tough Coat” with my foam roller again (with a new foam) to protect it.
When my “Tough Coat” top coat had dried, I put my basket drawers back in and it was done!
I think it looks so much better with the frame painted in “Simplicity”, it breaks up the brown of the wood giving it some contrast!
