Tricia from Little Cottage on the Pond gave her mother's old planter new life with a coat of Fresh Mustard, antiquing wax, and some bright flowers!
Since we are staying with my Mom and Dad until we move I decided to try out some Country Chic Paint around their house. This morning I was sitting having breakfast when I noticed this plain plastic planter sitting on the counter.
Did I mention I moved all of my paint with me? I had a brand spanking new can of Fresh Mustard that was begging to be cracked open. I began by lightly wiping off the surface of the planter, then I gave it three coats of paint.
After it had dried thoroughly I lightly went over it with some antiquing wax. I didn't do any distressing on this piece since it was plastic underneath.
The sad little ivy was begging for a pop of colour, so I planted an annual in the middle.
Mom is very happy with the result, and so am I!
Hi! I'm Tricia from the blog Little Cottage on the Pond. I am passionate about creating a home that looks lovely, but doesn't have to break the bank to do it!I love to paint old pieces and especially repurpose pieces in new ways to add character to our little cottage. I am super excited to be sharing my first blog post/how to using Country Chic Paint with y'all today!
