Lindsay from My Creative Days is back to share her beautiful garage sale finds. She made over this gorgeous desk with a coat of Bliss topped with Antiquing Wax.
Hello, Country Chic Paint readers! It is Lindsay from My Creative Days back with another fun makeover.
Yard sales have finally started around here. F-I-N-A-L-L-Y! With our long winter in Iowa, I have been counting down the days when I would be able to hunt for some new projects. I recently posted about my latest finds on my Instagram page. I was so excited to have found so many fabulous things in one morning! That never happens. Ever.
The first project I wanted to tackle was the desk.
The shape and lines on this desk are amazing. I have been searching for a bigger desk and one that was more "me". The best part about this desk was that the lady I bought it from had already stripped it because she was going to paint it. Yes, I thanked her. ;-) The desk below is what I have been using. This old picture makes me so happy that I finally bought a new camera. :-)
To change my "new-to-me" desk, I put two coats of Country Chic Paint's "Bliss" on it. Then, I used sand paper around the edges. I also spray painted the hardware black.
In the end, I used Antiquing Wax all over the desk to deepen the color.
I got exactly what I wanted! A new desk that is bigger, prettier and more "me".
Now, I am on the hunt for the perfect rug to go underneath the desk and a fun chair to sit in (I am using my old chair for now, but I am hoping something great will show up soon).
