Classic Black Door {guest post}

Lindsay from My Creative Days made over her front door with Liquorice to give is a classic, bold look.

Hello! It's Lindsay from My Creative Days back again to show you an easy project that only calls for paint, doesn't cost an arm and a leg and can easily be done in one afternoon (love those kinds of projects). Paint is the easiest and most inexpensive way to transform anything; from furniture and walls to doors and trim. If you want to change the look of something, start with a can of paint!

We have had a turquoise color on our front door for some time now. Since I painted it, I wasn't sure I was sold on it. Sure, it was pretty, but I thought I wanted something a little more "classic".

Hello, "Liquorice" from Country Chic Paint. Liquorice is a rich, black color and exactly what our front door needed (sorry about the glare on the glass door).

Right after I finished painting the door, I knew I had made the right decision. I started picturing decorating it for all the holidays and seasons. Black is a great background color. Everything I hang on the door will POP now. I love burlap and black together so I made a burlap wreath for the door. I will be sharing how I made it on my blog later this week.

If you have ever thought about changing the color on your front door, go for it! It is just paint. If you get it all done and decide you don't like it, paint over it.

I agree that painting your front door is a great way to brighten up or style up your house. Our door is currently red but I’m liking the classic black too! ;)

Thank you Ashley and Christina. My door is still black (I have been known to repaint it many times) so I have really liked it.

That looks great! I liked the turquoise color too, but I think this one will really get your door decorations noticed!
